The basic architecture introduces the three fundamental pieces for QoS implementation
• QoS identification and marking techniques for coordinating QoS from end to end between network elements
• QoS within a single network element (for example, queuing, scheduling, and traffic-shaping tools)
• QoS policy, management, and accounting functions to control and administer end-to-end traffic across a network

Introduction
Quality of Service (QoS) refers to the capability of a network to provide better service to selected
network traffic over various technologies, including Frame Relay, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM),
Ethernet and 802.1 networks, SONET, and IP-routed networks that may use any or all of these
underlying technologies. The primary goal of QoS is to provide priority including dedicated bandwidth,
controlled jitter and latency (required by some real-time and interactive traffic), and improved loss
characteristics. Also important is making sure that providing priority for one or more flows does not
make other flows fail. QoS technologies provide the elemental building blocks that will be used for
future business applications in campus, WAN, and service provider networks.
A flow can be defined in a number of ways. One common way refers to a combination of
source and destination addresses, source and destination socket numbers, and the session
identifier. It can also be defined more broadly as any packet from a certain application or
from an incoming interface. Recent identification tools have allowed the definition of a
flow to be performed more precisely (for instance, to the URL or MIME type inside an
HTTP packet). Within this chapter, references to a flow could be any one of these
definitions.
• Control over resources—You have control over which resources (bandwidth, equipment, wide-area
facilities, and so on) are being used. For example, you can limit the bandwidth consumed over a
backbone link by FTP transfers or give priority to an important database access.

yester day I wasn’t on becaus of ergent work I had to do for my thesis
any way
the thing we talked about is was traffic and bandwith
and how can bandwith eiffct traffic
and the reson that I did start with these two words and try to excepalin them in very light no scientificfrowny way is becaus the main subjectI am intrested of talking about is QoS and QoS its all about bandwith and traffic

the one talking about this whole new thing called QoS
bye the way I am watching cheacken littel as I am bloging
I figured insted of running to my twitter page and report the worl about my mondainly life detailes I just repot her if any body care about this carp
any way we get back to QoS
where were we
we talekd about traffic
and bandwith
bandwith is frequincy
its network highway
it could be real spacias and easy to move on it with quite good to great speed
or it could be dirte road where you hate your gutts as you navagit over it
and that depend on ISP
what ISP if you didnt hear of what is that I have feiw things to say to stat my opnion on that but I rather to explain it
ISP its brevation to internt serves provider
and that depend on alot of things
but mostly its mostly its cost issue
if you can afford the best ISp that is availbe around you that will by ALOT of bandwidthand that is theone thing that you can prag about besid your car what ever gagets you do have
so bandwith the word
and you computer ram and all the thing that comes with it

ya traffic
traffic what ist
traficc its what generates with every clike you make while you online
so every click you make the more traffic you generat
so imagen the traffic been generat by the 10 or 20 other peopl that they are sitting by your side in your class room or on wirless internt caffee
and multiply that in millions so
that is what traffic is
but how can make our traffic roaming the network smoothly with out break downs or intreptions or the thing that makes you want pull your hair losssing connction
so how we can mantain good soomth traffic

we all heard about the word traffic don’t we
no no its not LA highway congested traffic
I am talking about this traffic we all consume
and the way this traficc move can be great and make you do what ever you want do online from chatting with your fency on line whiches I am gulity of to be on connction wiht your all crazy frends on fcebook to post your self pics in most unflattreing state were your new boss can find you and fire you; and traffic can be pain in the ass too
make you you want slam your toshiba laptop against the wall
so traficc has needs
we will talk about them in the next post

I am from libya
IT student in the reserch stage
my subjsct is about QoS in Voip in wirless network
I am going to post my day to day reserch
and at whitch stag I am
I hope some body will find some use of what I would post
I am open minded about any suggestions
I will try any thing that seems usufll for my reserch
